This may be a stupid noobie question but about how much running is there in a typical cat 5/citizen/sport class race? Would you run for 1/4 of the race? 1/2 the race? I'm really interested in trying this type of racing but have some running injuries to overcome which is why I'm cycling in the first place. Thanks for any info.

Theres running in a cyclocross race? I thought it was a downhill race with knobbie wheels on a race frame....maybe you mean the tri forum?

in most races you are on your feet for several seconds a few times per lap.
some races are significantly more, but it's an odd race that would have you running even 10% of the time, in my experience (mid-atlantic racing and watching pros on DVD)- maybe some oif those muddy portland nationals races were worse, but it's not typical

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think it would be a whole lot but I wasn't sure.
