I am the king of lame questions.

Where can I find a cheap plastic chainguard?

Okay, I recently rebuilt my rotting Cannondale SM500 for my girlfriend to commute around on. I replaced cables and housing, rebuilt all bearings, blah blah. So now she is saying her pant cuff is getting caught in the outer chainring sometimes and is staining her jeans. I used to have that problem back in the day on my Wal-mart Huffy, but I have since upgraded to an cr-mo frame with old GS200 group from the 90s, and I have installed Shimano's comfort series FC101 crankset to commute on.

This new crankset has a thin clear plastic chainring guard thing on it. Now, its NOT a bashguard or old style long chainguard. It is a simple $0.25 ring of plastic screwed onto the outer ring, but all I can find is heavy-duty bashrings.

It gets worse. Given the advanced age of the Cannondale, it has a huge 48tooth outer chainring, and not even $100 bashrings come in this size.

I just want to know if there is any small parts database or something where I can buy a VERY rare part like that.

I have nothing here, so any help is appreciated.

It's called a Kool-Stop Chain Disc for 44-50T and is available for special order at all fine local bike shops that order through the Quality Bike Products catalogue.

that looks, okay, but does anyone know where I can get just the plastic ring? or should I switch to a compact crankset and get a cheap bashguard?
