Road Cycling - Large Shoes - SIDI Any Good ?

It was really tough to find a cycling shoe manufacturer that made larger shoe sizes.

I found out that SIDI (www.sidiusa.com) makes up to 52 in most of their shoes - and they even have one of their shoes that has a WIDE size as well (Genius 4 MEGA Lorica). I have pretty skinny feet (compartively), but in canse anyone needs the larger width - they market that one as being wider.

Anyone have any feedback on this brand ? Considering I may not have any choice in the matter, I guess it is more a matter of curiosity.

I wear Sidi Energy 2s. Excellent fit; the most comfortablr road shoes in the world. My one quibble is that the closure system of the Energies is pretty complex and does sometimes break. The Genuis doesn't have this problem. Go try on a pair of Sidis -- never buy shoes without trying.

I have some Sidi Titan 2's. They are comfy, stiff, and fit really well. I definetly reccomend Sidi's.

I have a pair of Sidi Dynamics....very stiff, light shoes. Sidis can be pricier than other brands depending on what you are looking for, but they make good shoes.

I wear a pair of Genius 4 MEGA Lorica road shoes (size 46). They fit great, are light-weight, and are very stiff. The only problems I have had are a.) a small tear in the Lorica upper which I glued back in place, and b.) the screw that holds the right micro-adjust buckle has a tendency to come loose and I have had to retighten it a couple of times.

I have SIDI Energy 2's. Wow what a shoe. Went looking for the Genius and came home with these. Glad I spent the extra $40. $280 by the time I got the shoes adapeters and cleats, but well worth it. I do a lot of long distance riding, and the ability to adjust the shoe while I am riding is priceless. My feet used to get sore and tired, but riding with these shoes I experimented with how tight and where, plus the sole stiffness and now I can set them for a perfect fit. I wear a 12 shoe, so I went with 50's. Only complaint was the only 50's I could find were gold! I have heard a few complaints about broken hardware, but I have not had any trouble with the fasteners. Only thing, I lost one stiffness adjuster the first week, had it too loose and it fell out. Make sure you have some tension on them at all times.

I like SIDIs a lot. The mountain models have good toe flex compared to many brands, a benefit if the rider has to walk/run up something steep. And the hardware's held up well, plus the gizmos are replaceable if they do get damaged or worn.

JeffAThompson --- Um - if you have size 12 shoes, are the 50's kind of big ?

According to that - you would be in 47's ....

Now you have me worried that my size 14 feet aren't going to fit in a size 52 shoe :(

I'm a 13/14 shoe depending on brand. I wear Sidi Genius 4's in 48. I love them and have had zero trouble. Great cleats.
