After shipping and handling, and bidding up the current price a bit, would this bike be worth between $250 and $300 dollars?

The chain looks a bit slack to me and I don't see horizontal dropouts. Is that normal for a fixed/track bike? That makes it harder to keep the chain tension nice and tight doesn't it?

Thanks in advance for your advice...

Jake

it's a road conversion, not a "bona fide" track bike. it has horizontal dropouts (not to be confused with track ends, which face outward), which will be fine for adjusting tension and the like, but i don't know that i would pay $250 for it.

no. get yourself a garage sale bike and order a rear wheel from IRO.

I'd maybe pay $50-80 for it if I wanted to pick up something cheap to start riding fixed on... but $250? I think raygunner said it best.
That wheel is basically junk. It works, but I'd hardly wish that bike upon my enimies.

what is with people and not knowing how to properly cut a brake cable/housing to length?

Not worth it.

As to cable housing, consider the attatched photo.

I’ve gotten lots of good deals on eBay but among the rules I follow: if I detect any deception in the ad, then stay away from the seller.

In this case, the seller claims that it’s a track bike, which it’s not.

notice the guy with the hat has short cables, obviously he's correct since he has a hat on.

Is this someone re-selling an Apple Cart?

No, applecart sells conversions with suicide hubs that don't even have loctite or anything on them. I pray for the winners of his/her auctions...

Thanks!
