I have a bike, but I rarely get a chance to ride.

I spend alot of time following the battlebots and robot wars competitions. You see I sell titanium to those guys. They are just regular people mostly father and son teams who want to buy titanium, but can't afford to deal with large suppliers. The large suppliers for the most part won't give them the time of day unless they want to spend a minimum of $500.

I am not a pushy salesman, I simply offer titanium to the regular Joe, no strings attached, no minimum sales quotas, just decent prices on top quality material. Even for small orders. I ship using UPS and Fed-X.

If anyone needs any titanium for their bicycle, I'd be glad to help out.

You rarely get a chance? Why on earth would that be. This is a worthless excuse and I really dislike hearing it here. We make time to ride by commuting, negotiating with our partners, etc. If you want to advertise a product, put it in the appropriate area.

I hope you don't sell airfree tires also! karl

Hey thanks for the warm welcom Karl !!!
Is your glass always half empty?

I thought a little honesty would be nice, so I admitted that I haven't ridden much. I could've lied and said I ride all the time.

The reason I don't ride much is because my wife and I just had our first child 3 weeks ago.

Anyways, his name is Nicholas and I can't wait to get him his first bike, so we can ride together.

Thanks again for your warm welcome,

Somebody pass the happy pills to Karl.

Geez, lay off guys!

Congratulations on the newborn, Joe. I'm sure someone will need some titanium sometime on BikeForums; when they do, they'll be happy for you. ;)

Hey that's great, thanks, but I was just describing what I do for a living, I don't care if anyone buys anything. Just thought we were supposed to describe ourselves....so that's what I do, that was my intro, sorry if it sounded like a sales pitch.

I'm so new to the forum, I thought it was Karl that was insulting me, after reading it again I realised it was Jeff and karl.

....Nice guys

You know what.....The world is full of asses, I don't need to join a forum to meet them.

Joe, we get people who don't have any interest in cycling that join the forams, not just this one only for shameless sales promotions. If this is not the case than I apoligize. Karl

No problem,

I guess I can understand your frustration, plus my intro sounds bad if you are used to getting sales pitches.

It was only intended to be a source of info about myself and also for anyone with questions regarding Titanium. The stuff can be hard to find, hard to work with and very expensive to buy.

Anyhow, no more about that.

Happy pedaling, I'm off

Welcome to the clubhouse Joe. Yes, it is true we're getting a few spammers coming through as long as you continue to post, ask questions (NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION) and generally make your presence known you will earn the respect of your peers here. I will make one suggestion get a bike (a real one from a bike shop not a low-quality, repair-prone, heavy-as-a -pregnant-elephant X-mart special) if you don't have one and ride it as much as possible. We aren't trying to be stuck-up a$$holes. It's unfortunate that such a small minority of people in the U.S. take cycling seriously as a sport or even a legit form of transportation, it's for this reason we tend to get a little defensive when we are struck with what seems (under first impression) to be an ad from a non biker trying to hock his wares on our site using what amounts to free advertising.

(X-mart special = accident waiting to happen)

I know what you mean, I currently have an X-mart special. It's okay for going around the block, but it's not for the serious rider.

As a teenager and through my twenties, I rode my bike all over the place, to work, to friends, to school, to the gym and I was in the best shape ever. Now I work one hour away from my house by car, all highway driving.

Because I've been driving the car, I'm getting kind of mushy in the mid drift.

I'm moving cities and switching jobs next week, yippeee !!!

I will be able ride to work, and spend more time with my new son.

I can't wait :-)

Swap some titanium tubes and misc. pieces to a frame builder in exchange for a frame.

That way you can be a rolling advertisement.

Eg. "Hey nice bike, is that a titanium frame?"

"Why yes it is. As a matter of fact I sell titanium and this frame was made by X-Co. for me. It's beautiful, light and stronger than aluminum. You should check out X-Co. and get one made for you."

"You know, I am in the market for a new frame. Thanks I'll check them out"

Win-Win

BTW, welcome to the forums and congrats on the newbie.

Hey, I like that idea.

Would you happen to know any small custom bicycle shops that might be interested in such a deal? I won't be able to make this trade with a large manufacturer as they seem to mostly be in China. I would love to hook up with a smaller custom bike builder in Canada or the USA. I think it'll have to be a smaller shop that would value the swap as well as the referals from the finished product.

Cool idea though
