I wanted to tryout my new $61.00 digicam I got on closeout sale from Argus distributors, so I took a bunch on my 27 mile ride this morning. I can ride for about 33 miles now on these trails, and, hopefully next year, I will be able to do a double century from my home (right on the trail) when three links are finished.

None of these pictures is retouched (normally I lighten pics before posting on the web). If you look real hard you can see Pikes Peak and Mt Evans. I saw about 3 people per mile this am, on the average.

This litle camera is SO neat. I have a much more expensive digital camera, but I am terribly impressed by this one, for what I want to use it for.

All of these pics were take on MEDIUM (normal) resolution. It also has "fine" "economy" and does moving pics and can be a web cam!!

I love that it has BOTH an internal memory AND takes CF Cards, and it downloads instantly through a USB connection, or you can use a PCMCIA adaptor for the flash card or a flash card reader.

Very versatile. And, best of all, it weighs about 120 grams w/o battery and fits perfectly (with room to spare) in my small Jersey back pocket.

Nice pictures. A lot more scenic than Atlanta traffic jams. :irritated
Didn't see Pike's Peak or Mt. Evans. Which picture should I "look real hard" at to see them?

I don't remember now. They are far in the distance, and probably don't show up on the web.

I've got lots and lots of other places to ride similarly rural.

I'll stay out of Atlanta, thank you.

Well, we have plenty of those kind of situations, also. But it is nice that the regional planners have put in over 400 miles of trails following streams, river beds, canyons, around lakes and the like.

At least for a nature lover like me. That is why I ride my bikes - peace and relaxation combined with exercise and fitness. Can't miss with that combination!!

Ron, nice freeway pic's! Ron, you better find an alternate route! :D

Most of my commute between Stone Mountain and Atlanta is different. One comment a Californian made when visiting Atlanta was, "I've never seen so many trees!" Most of my commute is through older neighborhoods. It's very pleasant. I just detour deeper into those communities when traffic gets unpleasant.

Denver, as an Atlantan viewing your pic's, I must say, "I've never seen such a clear blue sky!" (except when visiting my parents in Estes Park, Colorado.) Almost heaven.

That $61 camera was a bargain

I hate you. Really. You are evil in bike shorts. :p

Actually, I'm incredibly jealous. Although I know Denver can majorly suck, traffic-wise. I have been stuck in the mousetrap during Friday night rush hour.

Still, it's closer to the mountains, which is much better than Omaha. :(

Did you know that the bike trail zooms right by the mousetrap (now totally redone) just as fast as you can ride your bike?/ Truly, it is faster by bike.

six-lanes in one direction in a city the size of Montreal? Montreal has about 3km for 4-lanes. I don't think Toronto has that much 4-lans, probably more than Montreal.

Well, today my wife and I biked a portion of the 71+ miles Highline Canal, which starts in the foothills and goes throughout the south metro area headed east. This is mostly a grafel (fines) trail, so we took our mtn bikes. I will post two pics here.

After doing 10 miles on the trail, I biked back on the bike path along the freeway while Nora drove back.

Here is me with a warning sign about coyotes

And here is another bike path following the freeway headed to my house. Those horses won't be there much longer, due to development!!

What size files (MB) does that thing create? In it's "best" mode?

It states

640x480 fine/norm

320x240 econ

QVGA 2 x 320x240

Movie 160x120

Take your choice!!:D

I do NOT do high quality photo work and do not plan on doing so. I got this camera so that the kids in my class (I teach 6th grade) could make a record of our year for our little "yearbook" and also this will download directly into a VCR so that when we do a class video we can have still pics in it.

Now, I love to just throw it in the fanny pack/wedge or whatever as it is so much lighter and easier than my several hundred dollar digicam, yet takes perfectly adequate pics.

Okay - here is my final picture (yes, I promise) taken yesterday at Chatfield State Park about 20 minutes from my home in SW metro Denver. We have a similar State Park (Cherry Creek) just 3 miles up the road from our home. Each is several thousand acres and filled with biking trails.

Anyway, we did 21 miles, and this is Nora (of course) again, taken with the new camera.
