I find as though my Gary Fisher is becoming an extension of my body. I go everywhere with it. I havent been in a car in a week. If I want to go anywhere I ride my bike. To work, drivers ed(whats the point...), shopping, etc. Today I decided to go down to the lake to cool down. I rode my bike through a somewhat shallow section of the lake, water sprayed up, and I rode back out. At that point I realised how attached I am getting to my bike. Does anyone else feel the same way? A bond is forming or has formed between you and your bike... or am I just weird?
 I think I love my bike

I think you'll find most of us here feel the same as you do about thier rides. No matter how many bikes they own.

I'm 25 and haven't owed a car for 5 years!! Just goes to show that the "whippersnappers" don't have drive rolling stereo systems!

I have a Schwinn LeTour that I cannot seem to give away. It's been in the family for about 20 years, maybe a year or two more. I've modified it so that about only the frame is original, and now if I keep it, it will get some new components again. I'd say I may be a tad attached to it.

When I see a group of cyclists- I like to think of them as a pod of whales- off on an adventure. Have joked to guards at work- I just team up with the pod and ride off and never come back.
Co-cyclists just joke- take a water purifer and fishing pole, cycle off from your job, don't tell your wife and just cycle south until land's end. What would be best season to leave for Tierra del Fuego- weather wise? And there is no road going through Panama. Maybe best to cycle around Colombia...? Do you need money? Pretty freaky thought, but it has its appeal..!

You are asking a bunch of freaks if they are freaks? Yes, I am. I need serious help. I can't stay off my rides, bikes, and I can't just ride one without another getting jealous. You should see them when it's time to clean, wax and mantain.

I have an old Gary Fisher Sphinx that I run big phat tyres on, it's a 29er. It is the bike I was commuting on until this last week, which was everyday on an old Schwinn fixed gear. I have it in my head the GF needs to become fixed too. I love that bike, fixing it will mean we can go without protection or fear of jr. GFs running around.
