I need some advice on a new computer. Should I go with a heart rate monitor or a cadence function. I don't want to spend the money to get both?? Any suggestions on which one I would use the most.

HR. You stop using cadence pretty soon once you learn it, not so with HR.

HR, anyday. Keeping your heartrate in your target is by far better for conditioning, especially if trying to burn fat. You can figure out the cadence yourself.
Go for the heart rate monitor. The information provided by it will be more valuable for fitness then a cadence meter. As Polar says "Listen to your body". :)

yea, i agree with hr. you can basically figure out your cadence yourself
Or, get a cadence unit, since you can always find a cheap HR wristwatch afterwards. Adding on cadence capability in a similar fashion is impossible.
But other than that, I'd probably say HR as well.
I have neither! :D
