Also lampre calffita used the same combo al/carbon.

Damiano Cunego of Lampre used a Cannondale CAAD 8 SI frame in the Giro, that's about as not carbon as it gets in the Grand Tours.

Backstead has ridden Ti bikes because of the difficulty of getting a CF frame built to his size.

Thats because it was 920 gram aluminum frame.
