Is there such thing as a puncture resistant tire and/or tube??? if there is i want them.
I've been riding a Surly SS with 700c cyclocross tires on city streets. I've had 4 flats due to punctures
in the last 3 months. I'm pretty careful to avoid glass and debris when possible. Are cyclocross tires
just not tough enough for daily street riding?

armadillos
Continental Gatorskins.
Do a search, many here favour those or the Armadillos.

thnx for the suggetions. Looks like i'm ready to shop for some rubber.
and just to muck things up I'll throw in Panaracer paselas/tourguard, or Panaracer t-serv's (bascially a tourguard with kevlar beads for weight and folding.) I use both right now and am very happy with the performance/cost ratio.

I have Panaracer T-serv's on my winter bike, and no flats in a year of riding.
I have a Conti GP 4 Season on the front of my regular bike and an Armadillo on the back.
I've had two flats with my Armadillos, but I don't fault them.

I like thornproof tubes in addition to my kevlar belted tires. I have had good luck with the T-Servs on my fixed gear and the Pasela TGs on my touring bike.
Penny farthings used a solid piece of rubber around the rim, pinned at the junction. Garunteed flat-proof.

Conti Gatorskins, no problems so far and I ride everywhere (no car). The other day I was at an intersection for a left turn and picked a piece of glass out of my front tire, pointy little thing, may have caused a flat in some other tire. So far I'm really happy with these tires and I use them on both bikes.

To continue to muck things up, I'll point out that my 26" paselas flatted if a thorn so much as looked at them.

I use a bontager race lite hard case with 3x puncture protection (whatever the **** that means) on the rear, never had a flat with about 2,200 miles of normal to dirty riding (lots of thorns also).

rubber is overrated.
wrap duct tape around the rim several times.
no flats.
