General Cycling Discussion - Any Good

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have a GT Tempest mountain bike with Shimano components. I bought it about 9 years ago and only have probably 30 miles on it. Is it worth keeping or should I sell it and buy new? It doesn't have all the socks and cool peices that the new bikes have but it is very solid and in perfect like new condition. I am really starting to ride now and want to start off right. What are your thoughts? Thanks all!

Don't sell it!
Use it for your winter beater!

Or use it for your main ride--until the time comes when you're sure you want something else. I have an older MTB than yours that I ride quite frequently.
