Hello all... completely new to MTB's... was a former BMX freestyle junkie back in my more youthful days. (GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model)... waaayyyy back in the 80's... but now I'm a tech junkie... Systems Administrator at a local hospital. Need some good excercise other than basketball so I went out and bought myself a MTB. I've read a really long post about the Ironhorse (Northface) bicycles over at Dicks (formerly known as Galyans) so I went and took a look... well... more than a look cause I came home with one. They are in fact Ironhorse made. The gentleman that I spoke with expressed that the units are pre-assembled from Ironhorse and on some instances need to be assembled in the store but that when they need specs or a replacement part they have to call Ironhorse which I also did to validate his statement. Either way... I wound up buying the "Northface Kichatna". I'm not going to pretend to be MTB literate enough to say if this is good or bad but here's what it's got & a pic:
Ironhorse “Northface” Kichatna XC Frame
Manitou Axel Comp 120 mm with air assist
X Fusion Shox Glyde RPV
Truvativ X-Flow Crankset & no idea what type of BB (something powerspline)
(I just ordered the Shimano XT M752 Crankset and ES-71 BB from Jensonusa)
Shimano Alivio FR/RR Derailleurs 8 spd
Shimano HG30-8i Cassette 8spd
Shimano Acera Brake/Shift Combo 8spd
Hayes IH2 Brakes & Disks
WTB Speeddisks w/ WTB Weirwolfs
WTB Seat

Well... happy riding... I'm sure I'll be talking to you all soon.
