About a month ago I made a few posts asking about spoke lenghts, and now, after a month road trip, I began lacing the rims last night. The rear rim went allright, but when it came time to lace the front I realized that I got a 32 hole nashbar hub with a 28 hole velocity deep v rim. I tried to lace it anyway with two holes empty on each side, but the spokes (264 mm) do not seem to be long enough. Any tips/suggestions? Will I have to get new spokes / hubs / rims? Is there any easy way out of this?

Thanks for the time

Sorry, there's no way to mix 28 and 32 hole spoking. All you can do is replace either rim or hub. If you didn't tension the spokes and affect the rim, you can probably return it and get the right drilling; the hub is presumably marked by the spokes and hence non-returnable. Check which spoke lengths you got (whether for 28 or 32 spoked wheels), since the cost of replacing them, if necessary, may sway your decision on whether to replace hub or rim.

Heh, from the title I thought that the post was going to be about not having properly lined the hub up so that the hub label/logo is visible through the valve hole.
...anyone else?

ha. i did that with my rear wheel i built up and i just said **** it, whos going to look for something like that. and its only for effin asthetics anyway. plus it was my first wheel build and i think i did quite well with it if i do sayso myself. i trued the thing with only duct tape and the frame, though it needs dished cause the spacing on the axle didnt match the frame so it was slightly off to the non-drive side.
