Hi!
I will be using my mountain bike this Fall to access some of my hunting areas. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a bow/ gun rack made for securing a compound bow to the handle bars of a bike? I'm thinking that I might be able to use a holder designed for a ATV. Any ideas? Thanks.....Coldsteel

I'd try Cabelo's mail order or Bass Pro Shops. They usually carry most of the accessories for hunters.

Good Luck

Couple of thoughts:
- Might not want to put the bow on the handle bars, affects steering, gets caught on trees, etc.

- A rear rack w/ a pannier or one of these utility buckets (http://www.cobbworks.com/)

- a BOB trailer (http://www.bobtrailers.com/) : expensive, but allows you to take more gear if necessary

You might also try searching the Sportsman's Guide catalog (http://www.sportsmansguide.com/)

Excellent idea but be careful not to work up a sweat. Deer have a great sense of smell and the best scents in the world can't mask heavy BO. I think the best place to secure a rifle would be slung across your back diagonally. I would think you could do the same with a bow and quiver of arrows. Just be careful on those narrow doe trails.

Probably better to have it attached to the rear on a luggage rack, but not sideways. I carry long items lengthways, with some of the length running between my legs.

More to the point, how are you going to carry the deer back to the road on your bike ?
