BMX - Kmart sells Huffys with spinners

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ok, so they're not BMX, but they're 20" bikes. Pass that Dixie cup.

You're trolling. :D
Ok, a bit of background then. Whenever we're out shopping, I always check the crappy Kmart bike section to see what their prices are on accessories. I try not to order anything to sell here that can be had cheaper at Kmart. And I take a few moments and shed a quiet tear for today's kids, when I look at the bikes on offer. But plastic spinners?
By the way Kris, the BMX forums are much more fun than the ones where certain people take things way too serious.

Even though he's not posting in blue, I still dont trust him. Can't quite nail it down, though. (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Mark_Twain)

omg more lulz from stale memes!
My goal is to make this into the stoooopidiest thread, worthy of becoming a sticky like The Aussie Thread, parts 1,2, and 3. I'll have to invite the boys from there over here for a middy, maybe turn it into a fair dinkum pissup.

wow.
i want a spinner front wheel.
:D Which ones are those?
Hmm. All the ones that aren't BMX? No one here gets crazy over chain lube, nor do they care about Shimano/Campy/SRAM. A pleasant change of pace.

That thin oil you put on the chain so you don't sound like a ******** BMX rider while riding down the road.

ya, im not trashin them like you but, i mean if all you do is ride long distances...how is that a sport? like BMX is doing tricks and stuff like that...BMX racing is like jumping and racing and then theres Lance Armstrong Tour De France riding where they ride a bunch of miles and win and then get paid lots of $$...

Dang - Poor form by all. Especially a road biker coming in a making an A$$ out of himself by insulting in the WRONG FORUM.
Good thing there aren't any moderators around to tell people to STFU here.
Really, don't dis other riding aspects because you can't do it. It goes both ways. I can't ride like any of the serious road riders and the guys riding those distances would likely die the first time they tried a 10 foot gap. Dissin' within the world of cycling... it's like black on black violence. ;)

Roadies whine if they don't get 5 or 10k from their Dura Ace chain. BMX riders grind on theirs and generally abuse them to an early grave. They don't last long, so why put a lube on it that's just going to muck up your pants? And since they're not riding a century, drivetrain friction is really not a huge concern. A joke was made, someone got their knickers in a knot, and a childish retort followed. We expect that kind of response from the kids in the BMX forums, not from what are hopefully, more "Mature" members.
Thank you.
As you were.

Road racing can be pretty exciting stuff. And do you know where more than just a smattering of top riders in the pro peloton got their bike handling skills? That's right...on BMX bikes.
I had a sub 20lb road bike in the early 1990s, but I just have no interest in it anymore. I sold my Felt road bike last year, as the roads here are better suited for fatter tires anyway. I have nothing against roadies as a group (I've been known to do a weekend ride with one every once in a while) but certain individuals take themselves and their sport way too seriously.
You can have fun on a BMX in a parking lot. You can ride a mountain bike just about anywhere, but road bikes are rather limited in their use compared to the other options. My newest ride is my "Road bike" - an Electra Jester that I ordered last week, to match the "Rosie" that I got for my wife.
