what is the best size chain ring for bmx if i am riding skate parks and vert?? are smaller ones better

Smaller sprockets are nice 'cause they stay up out of the way, they're lighter and slightly stiffer (harder to bend). Remember though, if you switch to a tiny little 28t sprocket in the front and don't change the rear as well, you've got a bike that pedals really fast and goes really slow. Average gear ratio for BMX, that is, the number of teeth on the front sprocket divided by number of teeth on the rear cog/freewheel is typically about 2.75:1 or so.

the ratios are designed to keep the smaller drivetrain craze felling just like a regular 44-16 ratio that comes on most older stock and K-Mart bikes.
the ratios are set up so you get the same distanse, top speed, and acceleration as a 44-16...
they are: 44-16, 41-15, 39-14, 36-13, 33-12, 30-11, 28-10, and 25-9.
i also heard that some companys were making like a 23T or 24T sprocket...is this true?
cause i didnt think it was possible since a 25T sprocket barley reaches the chainwheel bolt on the crank arm...

I already explained how to get the ratio. Read my reply and use a calculator. Front sprocket divided by rear cog. Smaller numbers are easier gears to push, bigger numbers are harder gears and the norm is right around 2.75.
