Cyclist dies in hit-and-run accident
Alejandro Campos Gonzalez died on Tuesday, August 9, when he was ran over by a truck while training for a triathlon in Loma Linda, California. The 28 year-old nurse at Community Hospital of San Bernardino passed way soon after the accident in Loma Linda University Medical Center as a result of his severe head and chest wounds.

Richer Gosseline, 49, of Yucaipa was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of being the driver of the Salvation Army truck, which at first stopped at the scene of the accident, and then left again according to witnesses. Gossline is being held at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.

Good - jail in San Barnardino's gotta be bad, to give you an idea, I was out there once and the McDonald's had only one arch lit, and the Starbuck's where I met someone, had the toilet all clogged up and they said it had been since the day before. And the day before I went there, the newspapers were full of the latest San Berdoo story, someone's dog had literally eaten one of their kids ..... what a place.

This was in my town (Well, close enough. I live in Redlands which is adjacent to Loma Linda.). It's been the somber subject of conversation amongst any gathering of cyclists, locally, since it happened. I didn't know him, but if it's who I'm thinking of, I think I may have met him before, I think he was generally referred to by the name "Alex".

Friend of mine at a local shop recently built up his new tri-bike that he was apparently pretty excited about (Who *isn't* excited about a new bike?).

Completely senseless. The story I got from talking to a few people is that it was probably a right hook by the truck driver.
