Introductions - Hi!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, I've managed a few posts and have bought another bike, so I guess I can introduce myself now. I've been a sporadic bike commuter off and on (mostly off) for 30 years or so. I have a 92ish Norco Katmandu mtb ($90 at police auction 5 years ago) and just purchased last week a 1987 Bianchi Strada 12 speed road bike($35 at a yard sale with a Coleman camp stove thrown in with the deal). So far, I've tended to be a bottom feeder on the financial food chain of cycling.
I started bike commuting again two weeks ago, 12km each way. I plan to keep bike commuting all year long if possible.
I've found this forum to be a great source of information with lots of friendly, knowledgeable participants (along with the odd crank or two to keep things interesting :D )

Welcome!!

I used to get bikes at garage sales, but about 4 years ago took the plunge and got a couple of high quality new bikes. Can't say I regretted it, but it really makes no great big difference. Biking is biking!!

Welcome, glad to have ya aboard.
As long as you are ridin' and enjoying it, then it does not matter what type of bike you are on (as long as it rolls, perferably on it's wheels).

Welcome pinerider.
I've never been lucky enough to find a decent bike at a garage sale. What I have found should have been buried under the garage. ;)

Glad you found us.

Hey pinerider. Welcome. Sure wish I could get my next bike at yard sale prices. Looking forward to your posts.
