I just picked this up for the wife.
its a 1976 Eisentraut with Campy Record.
It will be a blast teaching her the joys of
friction shifting.
The scary part, she's as excited about this
as I am.
Of course I'm gonna have to find all sorts
of NOS period correct bits. . . ebay here I come!

That is one beautiful bike! I used to ride with a guy that owned a Criterium specific Eisentraut frame (it was a really cool, soft grey non-metallic paint color and all Campy SR gruppo). I always admired it for the frame work and lugs. Sweet!

Enjoy the 70's vintage bike and don't try to "update" it too much. It is a classic and I'd imagine a bit rare.

Congrats to you and the spouse on your new "addition"!

Nope, not gonna "update" a thing.
I'm looking for period correct saddle
(the one on the bike is pretty scuffed up)
and will put on new brake hoods (I have some
NOS Modolo Gum hoods).
Wife has new Bianchi for modern era, this
is strictly for RetroRiding.

Nice find! If the bike was maintaied well the Campy stuff should work flawlessly. However if need be http://www.recycledcycles.com is a good resource for Vintage Campy parts.

Nice looking bike. How the previous onwer took care it. :)

She must be really excited about the bike. I noticed you didn't put any pedals on it so she'll have a hard time passing you. :D

Very sweet! EISENtraut, no less!

The only concessions I'd make to modern would be pedals and cork tape.

It's always great to have a partner/wife/GF who shares your velopassion!

Oh yeah pedals,
I guess that will be the only "modern"
part on the bike. I'm gonna go with
speedplays since thats what she is
riding. I don't think she is quite up to
toe straps and clips!
However I do still have some campy
quill pedals laying around somewhere :lol:
Hunter, the thing I like, 26 y.o campy components
still functions like new.

Oh geez, I'm almost embarassed by this.
I found it on e-bay. The seller is pretty well known in
"classic lightweight " circles, runs a shop. I put a bid
in on a lark, and somehow when it all ended
I was high bidder. I think since its a small
frame (48cm) there wasn't alot of
interest, either that or the cosmos aligned and I got
REALLY lucky. There are bargains out there to be had
you just have to look for them.
