I can't identify the model of the bike.

I acquired an old (mid 90's???) GT mountain bike I'm attempting to restore. There is a minor crack in the fork, that I need to replace, is the common steerer width 1' 1/8"? How do I determine the steerer tube length? Any suggestions for replacement?? Just looking to use this oldie as a commuter.

Just about all forks you buy new will have a long enough steerer tube that needs to be cut to size. You could just measure the one you have now and cut it to the same length or leave a little extra and use spacers incase you switch fames and want to use the same fork. Look around on Ebay and your lbs. You should be able to pick up a ridged fork or a low end suspension fork very cheep
