General Cycling Discussion - So today I ordered our wedding favors....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Our guests will each receive a 2 oz chocolate bicycle wrapped in cellophane with a bow, and a card that will read:
Jessica and Paul
A Paceline of Two
Thank you for being in our Peloton as we start the next stage of Life's Tour!

Half the guests won't have a clue what that's all about but I'm very pleased with it! :D

That's just about the cutest thing I've ever heard of!
That is awesome! I'm gonna bring up this to my fiancee, but I don't see her going for it.
What a creative idea. Nice work and it would be cool to see pics if you have the chance to take some.
Nice-
Now all you have to do is get the disposeable cameras for each table, and they can all take pics, then leave the cameras for you to develop, so you don't have to hire a photographer... ;) Let the guests know that they are the photographers responsible for capturing the peloton images. :D

I've seen the results of a wedding where the guests were the photographers and it was, well, interesting to say the least  There's nothing wrong with having a backup, hehe :D
Best wishes to you, Jess! And Congratulations to Paul!

Ok, then... hire the photographer for the wedding ceremony and the after wedding pics with the bride and groom parties and for the first hour of the reception then. That way, they have some professional and some amateur.
I'd preface the reception with a speech saying something like "we'll be scanning all the pictures online for everyone to see, so keep it within the boundaries of good taste!". That way, you avoid the "hey, let me take a picture of the inside of your pants" type of deals. ;)

Thanks so much for all the comments guys, it's so great to have people who "get it" and appreciate what we are doing. I was worried I'd get a lot of eye rolling but I'm glad that it was the opposite. :)
Koffee, that's EXACTLY what we were going to do, it's funny you should mention it! We have a microminiscule budget for this wedding, and photography is still a big question mark. Photogs usually charge $250 an hour for at least 4 hours and we just can't afford it.
We have decided to go with the disposables, and hopefully we can find someone to do some professional shots of the ceremony, wedding party etc. for an hour. We have a couple of possible photographers who will quote on that...hopefully it will all work out.

Fortunately, our wedding is a brunch, so the guests shouldn't be too smashed to take pics. ;)

Congrats on the wedding!!!
I hope you registered at your favorite bike shops! Who needs blenders when you could have a new set of Mavic wheels!
LOL! We have a whole separate thread on that...but it sank like a stone I think. We were trying to find out if it's better to register at a bike shop, or for a honeymoon which we can't afford this year....
