Does anyone know if these (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=108&subcategory=1078&brand=&sku=2428&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=) pedals come w/ cleats?

I know, they are not high end, but I just want to get a set to see if I like clipless.

Also, if anyone can recommend a pair of MTB shoes (SPD compatible) off Nashbar, for around $50-60, that they have found is a good shoe (if any) that would be awesome.

All new pedals come with cleats. Those are knock-offs of old style shimano's, but don't plan on using shimano cleats with them as they aren't fully compatible. Also, don't plan on riding much mud with them as they don't clear mud very well.

I use Shimano 520's they were cheap and are very easy to use. I use them on my road bikes and MTB. I wear MTB shoes regardless of the bike. I like the ease of walking with this setup.

Thanks guys

Now im looking at the Shimano M250L ATB pedal. Is that a good (better) pedal? How do I know what shoes will be compatible w/ it?

Any shoe that is SPD compatible should work.

I would recommend a combo deal like this (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13897-285_DIATA5_KIT-4-Specials-116-Combo-Deals/Diadora-Gecko-Shoes-w_-Time-Atac-Alium-Pedals.htm). These pedals would be better than either of the ones you listed especially in muddy conditions.

The cleats for the 520's need 2 screws to hold them on/spd compatible, most mtb shoes are compatible. They are also easy to walk in since the cleats are recessed in the mtb shoes. You be surprised how easy they are to clip in without even thinking about it.

I thought all pedals came with cleats for them....but if you have doubts, call the number. It's right at top of Nashbar page (1-800-NASHBAR).

As for shoes....don't know if Nashbar carries them (I got mine at Alfred E. Bikes), but I bought Lake MX101 shoes and like them very much.

Edit: Yes, they have them and for about same price I paid.
