Introductions - Hey from Colorado

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I'm Brian, a (mostly) road rider from Erie, Colorado (just north of Denver). I ride approximately 100-120 miles per week on my Trek 1500. This is my first road bike (since I was a kid anyway - back then I road an old Puch in some of the Red Zinger Mini Classic stage races). I've been a runner for years and decided to take up riding to reduce the wear and tear on my knees and because I thought it looked like a blast. Its now almost completely surpassed running in terms of what I like to do.
On the non-biking side of life (there's one of those, right?) I"m married, father of 3 (6 year old, twin 3 year olds, all boys). I'm a product manager for a smaller software company (www.iqnavigator.com). In addition to riding I like to climb 14ers, cook, read, and drink beer.
Later!
Brian

I love that area, Mt. Sneffels is one of my favorite 14ers and, you're right, the area is incredibly gorgeous. Gotta love having the Ouray hot springs available as well!

Too funny, I used to live in that area...on Pecos St. in Amherst. Anyway, do you have a regular time/place to meet for rides?

Sounds good. I'm thinking about trying to ride with the Louisville Velo Club (sponsored by Louisville Cyclery) some Saturday, I've heard they have a good ride.

Yeah...too many to list here! :)
Seriously, what part of CO are you going to be in? That will help me narrow it down.
CO is a great state for biking in general, sure you get your moron drivers like in any other state, but for the most part there are lots of roads with good bike lanes, wide shoulders, light traffic, etc.
What kind of rides are you looking for, distances, lots of climbing, etc.?
