Hello,
Does anyone make a standard flat pedal that you would get on a comfort or hybrid bike, with sealed cartridge bearings? I want to replace the pedals on my bike with pedals of higher quality, and this type of bearing. I am not interested in clipless type pedals, or pedals with studs sticking up!

Thanks!
Larry

MKS make several different type of platform pedal. The bearings are high quality, sealed traditional ball bearings. I use mine for all-weather commuting and service them (ie just clean and regrease) once a year. For fair-weather use they should last a few years between servicing.

Michael,
Thanks for the info. If I can't find a set with cartridge bearings, I will get a set from MKS.

Well, I found the pedal I was looking for! It is called "Octopus" and is made by (or for) Cannondale. A somewhat different looking flat design with a VERY high quality bearing. I don't know if it has a cartridge bearing, but it sure feels like one! I can't seem to find much info about it on the web, however if you go to the Cannondale site it shows it with different bikes. I was able to get a pair used from my lbs. If anyone is looking for a high quality flat pedal, I would give the "Octopus" a try!
