Is it okay to train when congested? I've heard as long as you don't have a fever your good to go, but I've also been told that if it's in your chest, you need to refrain from cycling. Which is really true?

My standard is that if the problem's above your shoulders, keep working out. If it's below your shoulders, take a break.

Don't know what you mean by "congested." If it's in your head, I find that a ride will clear out lots of crap--I usually take it easy, though. If it's in your chest, I would take a break.

I find that even when I have a 'head' cold, I feel so tired and have no energy that I'd rather just do nothing!

My rule is: if I feel like riding, ride. If I don't, don't. It's simple and easy to follow :)

When I am feeling under the weather and riding, I usually end up taking it easy though.

it depends on how clogged up you are but I too find riding clears up the blockage. But if you feel crappy, riding may not help that feeling.
