Mountain Biking - Shoe recommendation

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can someone recommend be a good MTB shoe?
I am looking for something that is clipless compatible. Selection criteria will be based largely on price, style, and ease of walking. As for style, I am looking for something that looks like a street shoe (i.e. limited velcro straps).
Things that have caught my eye:
Sette Enduro
Vittoria Extreme
Diadora Santa Cruz
Adidas Minnret
Cannondale Roam
Lake MX101
Corrolary: What do people think of sandals? I'm also a golfer and I wear golf sandal spikes which I love.
No comments so far.
I'm settling in on the Adidas (from Nashbar) to go along with Shimano 520s (from Jenson).
Someone stop me quick if I'm making any kind of mistake. I'll be ordering tomorrow.
I was really digging the Lakes but in doing some research I figured out that the ones I was interested in were:
a) apparently wide size only and I'm not sure I needed that
b) a 2003 or 2004 model and only available at two places in the US that I could find and the only one that had my size wanted full retail
c) both a and b

this is kinda late but...
Regarding sandals, I have the 2004 Lake Sandals, found on nashbar.com, and I love them. At the same time, they are my first pair of clipped shoes, so take it for what it's worth.
Pros:
They open really wide, and for a guy with a wide foot, that is a major plus.
They are completely waterproof and extremely durable. I walk through ditches and canals with them on a regular basis.
They are pretty damn stiff.
Cons:
Heavy??
They are stiff, which can be wierd for walking.
They are sandals, so with any rain or moisture at all, they seem to attract all of the sand/mud that is thrown up by the front tire.
... and when it's cold out, unless you are wearing heavy wool socks, you can't feel your toes anymore
... just my feelings on sandals.... Hope your shoe search went well otherwise...
