I've read some posts on this forum and would like to pose the following question:

Being able to ride all year round and preparing for a race season next year, what should my approach be if I want to to perform consistently and progressively better throughout the season next year? I am planning on qualifying for a Cat-4, which means I have to do at least 10 races next year, starting in March going through August or so (I do not have two peak 'A' races to train for next year)

I live close to the mountains and would love to use some 'down-time' during December - Feb to spend cross training on xc skis.

Why can our bodies peak only 2 during any calendar year (I assume this is dependant on the ability to recover and rest as well as forced down time during cold winter months, which some have to deal with). I think I understand the reason why I cannot peak for each race, but would welcome any recommendations that would make me a stronger rider year-in and year-out.

Thanks, Peter.
