Here is something that really needs doing, a bike golfcart. I like to walk, and hate to ride, but there is a place for assistance as people get older. Plus on some courses set up for carts, there can be long walks between the holes. A bike golfcart would just be a bike, possibly, on any course that uses the 90 degree rule. You are stuck on a path anyway, so why not. For a cart that would really be used all over the course, probably a trike format with very large ballon wheels would be best.

On some courses the terrain is too fierce, but that isn't always the case. I would say almost all the courses I have been on could be biked. A lot of the courses I have seen that had terrible terain have good cartpaths. But god help you if you need to take a straight line on foot.

There is no question it would be practical. It has probably been done. The main problem would be that golf carts are major revenew producers, and something one could easily bring to a course, and not take a cart, would not be welcome.

Anyone seen this?

I've seen a mtb with a small golf bag mounted to the fork and, yes, he has problems from the course management to let him use it sometimes. I don't know if it's because of the lost revenue (he could just walk) or they're afraid he's going to tear up the greens or something.

Probably both. You definetly can't ride the thing on the greens. The second most vulnerable area is the rough, off the fairway, since it gets less water. But it could certainly be done with safety for the course. The way some people drive GCs how could it be worse.

I like the trike idea, but a 2 wheeler pulling a hand cart adapted to mount to the bike would probably be better. I would stay with bike tires on the trike and stay on the path. I wouldn't want to be the engine with those fat, low pressure cart tires.

A lot of courses, particualrly in AZ anyway, require carts to keep the pace of the game up. In thse cases it might indeed be a revenue hit for the establishment.

Let's take an alternate view. What if they were designed to be sold/leased to the golf courses? Lower overhead than an electric cart, lower maintenance too. They could rent them as an alternative to walking or using an electric cart. Quick, someone go make a million dollars off this idea.
