Hi

Long time since I visited. I include a photo of our new baby. It is a Kinesis 7005 aluminium framed bike with Shimano Deore. We installed a Marzocchi ZI Wedge front fork. Can you get stifffer springs for these forks??? Still have to install M's suspension seat post.

We also installed a Cordless FD SC6501 Flight Deck cycle computer on our new MTB Tandem. We live in Mozambique and with the bad roads, potholes, gravel with some stretches of tar as well as fog in the eaarly mornings we installed cateye safety blinking light fore and aft. I eagerly installed the FD but it would not work. I "imported" batteries form South Africa but nothing. It would only show the time and the gear indicator bubbles worked. One morning while cycling I switched the front Cateye off and lo and behold the FD started working!!!!! I then experimented and if I turned the Cateye upright (it can swivel to be vertical or horizontal) and turned the light on steay (ie not blinking) the FD operated perfectly.

Has anybody experienced the same problem???? I find this very strange and will drop an email to Cateye and Shimano.

Keep those wheels spinning!!!!!

Not this exact problem, but if I wear my MP3 player in a front pocket, my heart rate monitor makes it go crazy. However, if I place it in a rear pocket, my body shields it and it works fine. Also, when I first programmed my HRM, I couldn't get it to work until I turned off my halogen desk lamp.

Do not know the wedge, but Most Marzocchi forks out of the box are fitted with a stiff spring. On most models an extra heavyweight spring is available. I said I do not know the wedge, but if it is hydraulic, a change of oil to the heaviest weight available also assists.

On the Seat post-- I will let you know in a couple of weeks but tomorrow I fit a Cane Creek Thudbuster. This will hopefully be easier on the backside to my "No Name" suspension post. I can assure you, the stoker does need a bit of help in the cushioning department, so I will let you know the verdict on the cane creek in a couple of days.
