Speedplay.com has some new peddles out called "Drillium". They offer a very generous surface for the foot. They have in mind extreme jumps and stuff right through to cruisers, touring is certainly not mentioned. I can't use bindings, and one foot is positioned at an outward facing angle due to a variety of fractures. This peddle is the kind of thing that might work for me. Plus, is has so many holes that I could certainly mount clips and straps on it.

Anyone seen these? Do they look feasible for touring. Rotating weight is a concern, but knee health comes first. I find that regular pedals tend to hurt after a while given the minimal support from the edges.

Wow! That looks like a miniature version of the thing I use to cook scallops on the grill! :D

Right you are! Even greater versatility than I had expected.
