General Cycling Discussion - Cyclocomputer Installation Question

Where do you install the wheel magnet for your cyclocomputer?

I checked a couple of installation guides and there is no specific direction as to how far from the hub the magnet should be installed. Instructions simply say install on the spoke.

So, does anyone have know at what point on the spoke is optimal for the magnet to work with the sensor?

It doesn't really matter dude, so long as the lateral distance between the magnet and the sensor is right, they work on a switch-on switch-off thing as soon as the sensor senses the magnet on each revolution. Whatever looks good, suits the length og the cord and tickles your fancy I guess.

Sheldon says mount it as far away from the central hub as possible. Of course the current fashion is to have it as close to the hub as possible. Mine is about 3/4 way down.
