Hey,
I just came across a mid-90's Univega Gran Rally ( carbon fibre frame) w/ 105 drive train , new Mavic wheelset for around $450.
I believe it is about a 54cm frame ( i'm 5'10" w/ about 32.5" inseam)....
I rode the bike around and it does have a long handlebar stem on it and narrow drops ( both easily replaced)
For a first roadie, is it worth it?

I dont understand why they are saying its not. whats wrong with the bike? if the frame fits. the drive train is a good one.
what wrong with it dont just say no and not tell why!

Well, as it turns out , after a good test ride, I found myself rather scrunched on the bike. That aside, should I just be wary of older CF frames in general? I have just started shopping for a roadie, and I am looking at used ones right now ( not so much budget, but I believe I can get more value for my dollar with an older restored bike ).
If there is anyone in the Seattle area, I have been poking my head into Recycled Cycles ( the stores, not the website as it is way out of date) and Second Ascent ( formerly Second Bounce ). Any other suggestions?
Thx
