alright, going against the purest mentality, im trying to find brake levers to go on the top of my bars with a 26.0 clamp size. what recomendations do you guys(and girls) have? ive got my bike all put together but want a little more stopping power than my legs can provide since this if my first fixed bike.
i would love to here what any one has to say.

ps i did a half-assed attempt for a search on this topic, i just feel lazy, you'll have to forgive me.

yeah, i thought so, im just iffy about clamp size, ive gone through two sets of brake levers that didnt fit and had to send them back, ive been building mainly through mailorder, but now im at school there are some good bike shops i can have help me out i think. it was just discouraging not being able to know clamp size when i was buying the things.
buy the way, aren't those called interrupter levers or the like?

stem clamp size really doesn't matter unless you're putting the brake levers in the stem clamp area. typical clamp size for brake levers is, i believe, somewhere around 22mm to 24mm, depending on the manufacturer.

Paul Components makes VERY nice levers that fit the top of road bars (25.8/26.0 width). See http://www.paulcomp.com/ for the "Cross Levers 26.0" -- they're most often used on CX bikes, as are the Tektros mentioned above. The one thing I'm not certain about is if the Paul levers have the proper mechanical leverage (for lack of a better term) to pull road calipers properly...

These IRD levers come with shims so they can be used over 26mm portion of the bar (stem clamp area) or the smaller diameter grip areas, including bar tops. This lever is mounted on the bar top grip area, using the supplied shim.
