you got an xc post, platform pedals, pretty high riser bars, and a beefy stem.

that is an odd combo, what type of riding you doing.

Funky looking stem, but does it really matter to have an XC seatpost? I can't really imagine ever bending or breaking one. (I also ride with my seat slammed so it never gets use anyway)

I just want the bike for everyday riding, but also for things like going down sets of stairs and cycling fast through the woods near my house that has winding paths and small jumps, I dont know much about bikes so im just lookin for parts that look good but it needs to be able to take abuse.

stem - http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=119&subcategory=1186&brand=&sku=11011&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=

pedals - i think those shimanos are pretty nice.

post - thomson no doubt. these are the more expensive of the two that they make http://www.bikeworld.com/components/catalog/product.html?pid=1068&cat=235

bars - the ones you picked were nice, here is another alterative. http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=92&subcategory=1049&brand=&sku=14089&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=

Does anyone know what an Apollo Guru is ? Their website does not include that model. What year is it?

I wouldn't put much extra money into bike that costs 30 pounds (or USD 54) .

Putting 204 pounds (365 usd) worth of equipment on a bike that costs 30 doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Then again, I am an ignorant snob.

How much does a base Hardrock go for accross the pond?

I got the bike from my grans neighbour whos son had moved out and didnt want it, im pretty sure she has no ideas on prices for things as i got an xbox for £30 aswell but she was gunna sell it for 40 but because my gran is her neighbour i got it for 30, the only price ive seen online is £350 or somthing the guru is basicly a full sus bike, v-brakes, 21 speed it all looks pretty standard and thanks to zx108, ive had a look at the links im prob gunna stick with the stem i was looking at as i like the style of it but the post and the bars are nice.
