Hi guys. I'm new to this forum and, I suppose, MTBing in general so please forgive the ignorance...
I've owned a Raleigh Urban Swamp for the last 5 years and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it (spec, how good it is in use, etc.) (This I do know: it's a steel framed, hardtail jump bike with a few Shimano bits and bobs and Suntour SR 7600 forks.) I use it for getting from A to B via roads, canal paths, curbs, and small (<1') drops/jumps and for these things it's been fine. And so, to the first of my questions: is it going to be suitable if I want to do a bit more with it, for example, bigger drops, etc? I'm not talking anything major, maybe 3'. Secondly, it's a bit too heavy-is changing the components going to make a big difference or would it be more cost effective just to buy another bike or frame? (I'm happy to go 2ndhand)
There's probably a lot more information that you need to answer this fully and so just ask.
Cheers, neill

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
