General Cycling Discussion - What's Your Most Recent bike related spending?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I haven't ridden my Lemond Poprad in 3 months because of a bent rear wheel so I finally went and bought myself a new wheel.
I went to Sid's Bike Shop... a little pricey in my book, but I was in the area and it was convenient.
I told them my budget and ended up getting a Mavic Open Pro with a Shimano 105 hub. It was $169.00. I also had to get a chain whip, and that as $40 bucks.
Getting to ride my Lemond again is pretty nice though, took it out both Saturday and Sunday and got in about 80 miles over both days.
My last purchase was a patch kit on sale for $1. Before that it was bar tape and shorts.

Well, just put new brake pads (frt.& rear) on my mtn.bike, but had new ones on hand in my "bike bag", so guess that doesn't count. But noticed my derailleurs (both) had worn a bit, so I just bought new front and rear ders. Wife's front derailleur cable just frayed and parted ways, so replaced that, also from the "bike bag", but had never noticed that it was a lower level der., so I ordered her a new XT front der. Other than that, have some Hutchinson tires waiting for me to put them on-but I'm working on wearing out the pair I have first. Seems derailleurs have gotten my $$ lately! Wife's bike is fairly original. My bike- still have original wheelset and cassette-that's about it! (and thinking about replacing them).

Zipp 404 700c clinchers, picked up yesterday.
My most recent bike-related spending *avoided*, however reluctantly, was a Cervelo P3. Test-rode yesterday, loved it, but it will have to wait until next year's bonus.

ViewPoint EVO dual light (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=17410&subcategory_ID=4320#) from Performance (and a couple of other little things). The recently expired 20% off coupon and a few Team Performance dollars brought the price of the light down to $110 from the advertised $150 and listed $200. :D

A future expense hope I do not have to make...Last year put on a new rear shifter....have not been riding my Klein too much...of late...Mostly my commuter/tour bikes...
So after probably no more than 500 miles the Ultegra shifter is not clicking. Particularily when shifting up to a higher gear ratios..Mechanic says it is trashed..need a new one..Will Shimano warranty it?
other expenses...A new Serfas floor pump. yellow cycling socks.and recently up in Oregon. a new Topeak Morph pump. the seals on the old one were not sealing.
Regular Guy..Let us know how you are doing with your recent bike related expenses.

wool jersey, wool arm warmers/leg warmers, HRM, new chain cleaner, couple of Armadillos for the Raleigh, a cool cycling tshirt, box of cliff bars. Now I'm thinking of a new car to carry all my bike stuff. I was thinking about a small or mid sized SUV, but with gas prices through the roof I'm thinking small again - Audi A3 or Mazda3 wagon for half the price......hmmm.....
