A Specialized All Conditions Pro. I've been running one in the back for about six months now and it is holding up so much better than my previous tires, most of which have been Conti Ultra 2000s. No flat spot in the middle despite much skipping/skidding, great grip dry and wet, etc. Anybody else running these? I'm going to have a hard time finding reason to ride anything else after this.

Seeing as how I just went through a Ultra2K in about 3 months, this really intrigues me.

Do you think any of it has to do with different roads?

I don't really know about the roads. I was riding an Ultra2k here before the Specialized and it wore just as fast ast they did in Chicago, so I don't think it's the roads, or any difference between those in Chi and Columbia that's made the difference with this tire. It's just holding up really, really well.

You do realize that you will probably have 3 flats a day on these tires now that you've posted this, right?

But it makes me happy I didn't buy another pair of U2Ks earlier this week like I thought about. The ride and handling are comparable?

I've got a set of 'em too (23's)...durable yet they have a lot of 'feel' too. I like 'em.

<---Dumbass. I may have to look into getting one and see if your results can be verified. I had two flats and one spare tube last night...GRRRRR! Of course pre-ride I neglected to notice that the tire was down to the threads.

Hey Fugazi how much you get them for? Unfortunatlly I have found that for the most part the higher the price the better the tire. I am using a gaterskin with some sort of flat protection thing. It's been about 3 months and they are still looking good.

How do they compare to the Armadillos? I have had the fewest flats on those, maybe 2500 miles before frequent puncturing. Gatorskins lasted about 900 miles, everything else more like 5-700... (YMMV, I hit a lot of glass.)

If these are anywhere near the armadillos, I'd consider switching for a nicer ride feel.

i was going to ask the same thing orange!
the armadillos just keep on rolling, and rolling!
the only thing i don't like about them is they are a bit slippery in the rain..

I've never ridden the 'Dillos, so I can't really make any direct comparisons for durability with the Specialized tires. I almost never get flats, so I've never had any motivation to try them. Anyway, I got mine for about $35 locally. Granted, I've only got one (in back), but it rides really nicely. Grippy dry or wet, and always feels secure while cornering. FWIW I'm running 700x23.
