Yeah...there isn't one. Has anyone tried to ride the local college tracks (Temple, Girard, Upenn)? I'd really like to set up a flat track event, possibly a weekly thing. Has anyone had any luck at any other tracks? A race lapping around city hall on like a sunday night comes to mind.
*EDIT-Nice, Velodroms...screw that E.

Dude...T-Town? One of the greatest Velodromes in the country is but an hour and a half away from Center City.

true, but I'm usually stuck here, and a local thing would be tits. More people would show, and less Lycra. Everyone wins.
Sounds fun. I'd probably be competing for last place, but I'd be down for any kind of race.
well penn is out....canyt even get on the track to run w/o a reason

Thank God Marky Mark and the rest of his Funky Bunch have left now. You couldn't get within 20 ft of Franklin Field without getting hassled by security.

what about high school tracks? My high school's track was clay (on Ogontz and Somerville) so not ideal for track racing, but does anyone know of one better suited?

Girard is a fortress...no go there, same with franklin. Temple is easy to get onto, but there's a guard that's real close, I figure we'd get 5 laps in before we got the boot. As for high schools, I'm all ears.
late night logan's circle? eakin's oval?

I don't know what the deal is with any of these tracks, that's why I started this. I'm looking for the inside scoop on a track that isn't watched very well, or a track which would be cool with us riding like once a week, late at night. As for the logan's circle idea, I thought of that after I said the city hall loop. I'd be down.

I could see a pack of people eating sh*t right now. Good times would probably be had.

I've never been on PC's track but i remember wandering their fields a while back in the afternoon with no disturbances. Late at night, assuming no fences i could see it happening

i know where a good grass track would be, the field under the walnut st. bridge as you come into west philly. trophy bikes tried to have a crit race there, but got rained out. may be a resched.

which side of the bridge? There's bower field on your right (as you enter west philly from downtown) and on the left there are the soccer fields. I don't know which would be better. I like the idea of a grass course (or any course that wouldn't require me to use most of my energy getting there so i can use it to come in last when i get there (at least it will be a respectable last)

yeah, grass would probably be easier, but I don't dig it as much. We may have to settle.
is that near where all that post office parking lot is?
