Introductions - Hi from the Mississippi Delta

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi! I've recently started back into cycling. Haven't ridden in too many years. I've had 2 knee surgeries and 2 babies since I was last on a bike. But-I'm having fun so far. I'm looking forward to some good discussions here.
Welcome back to biking. Are you far from the Longleaf Trace in Hattiesburg? It is a great ride if you are close enough. Also the Tammany Trace in Slidell isn't bad. We travel around quite a bit just for the opportunity to ride some of the trails we like.
Unfortunately I'm not too close to Hattiesburg. I'm up in Cleveland. Do you know of any good places to ride around here? We do travel to south Louisiana a couple of times a year and we're hoping to find some nice places around there, too. We're only 2-3 hours from the Natchez Trace and hoping to ride some of that in the near future (when it cools off a bit).
I have ridden portions of the Natchez Trace and it is excellent riding. Other than the Longleaf Trace, that is the extent of my riding in Mississippi. October/November will probably be about perfect for the Natchez Trace. I rode the southern part up to Jackson during mid summer a couple of years ago. You can't drink enough to stay hydrated on an all day ride.
Thanks for the info. I think that will be a nice trip in October/November - after cotton defoliating season. We head indoors during September. Whatever it is they spray on the cotton fields cannot be good to breathe - especially while riding a bike!
