I started cycling about 6 weeks ago because it's the only significant aerobic activity I could do. I have a broken vertebrae so running is out of the question not to mention my surgically repaired knees (yes both). It has been a damn god send. My $475 Tommasso (sp) has completely changed the direction I was headed. I am off the couch now, I can't explain why but my back pain is down 75% from where it was and I can function again. I am losing fat as expected but I have started to ramp up the weight training again. I am affraid that I am being counter productive in my diet. I use FitDay.com to account for every calorie I can...then I add in 500 for the stuff I miss. I come up with about 2500 cal per day on the site and then add in 500 for misc. With my riding and lifting I come out to 4500 cal burned per day +/- then I discount that by 300-400 calories.

I'm at 19% body fat now, can I continue on my current schedule down to 15% without being counterproductive in my lifting or do I need to up my calories? So far I've lost 6% body fat and have kept my weight flat and have actually gained a few lbs, how long can I expect this to continue until I need to ramp up my calories to be able to gain muscle at a reasonable rate. I know I will gain at a reduced rate then I have seen in the past, but at what point will a 1000 calorie a day defecit begin to take it's toll on my gains. I guess I'm looking for a bady fat % to change my diet at if any one has a working knowledge.

If not I'll just keep on trucking unitl I see a body fat % loss and a weight loss for consectuive weeks.

Go 3 weeks hard then one week easy, then repeat. Standard periodization.
