Cyclocross - Las Cruces Owners

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Considering the purchase of a Salsa Las Cruces and just wanted to see how the owners considered them. Considering using it for triple duty - cyclocross/light commuter/road bike.
I'll be retiring my old steel road bike - its feeling old and sluggish (but that could the rider's fault) - and was curious to know if anyone also uses theirs for a road bike and how it fairs.
Thanks!

I've been using a Las Cruces for triple duty and It's great. Having disc brakes for a rainy commute is a plus. The first CX race isn't for another 3 weeks so I have only tested the bike in the dirt a little. On the road I do notice the more relaxed geometry. It does not whip into corners like my road bike. The last couple of weekends I've been doing some hilly century rides and the bike has been fairly comforatable.

i have no personal experience with the las cruces, but i hear nothing but good things about them and i see lots of them at the cross races. it seems like a good deal for a scandium frame, and if you are used to steel, supposedly the scandium is more "forgiving" than aluminum.
