How to turn a hard day at work into a great day.
A year ago, my only method of getting to work was pedal to the metal. Late last fall I started commuting as I could. I have worked to increase my time in the saddle.
I have a boss who's a cyclist, he says anyway, on the weekends. During the week he drives this monster Titan. Since we're both late and I had waited out a lightning storm we left together. He left the lot about 15 seconds before I did. We live in roughly the same part of town, about 4..5 miles away. As a part of my commute I past the post office, slightly over 3 miles from work. Out of the corner of my eye I see this monster truck behind me moving towards me in the lane, just in front of the post office. I was amazed he couldn't see me as I was wearing a bright yellow rain jacket. I look at this crazy driver, and it's my boss. What do you say? Then he hollers out "Hey, you're fast".
Got to keep riding with strokes like that. Just had to tell someone who understood.
