Crank It Up

Hi folks. Good to see there's an informative online forum for fellow cyclists.

I've been a cycling addict for years but for the last 5 years or so haven't had time to put in the miles (working hard). I've definitely missed the cardio fitness and exhilaration of riding my road and mtn. bikes.

Just purchased an EPX 303 carbon road bike with Shimano 105 groupo and Mavic cosmos wheelset. Got a pretty good deal on it. The bike will be more than sufficient for local club rides and occasional time trial.

Planning to get a Flight Deck wireless; anyone have any comments?

Keep on biking!

Welcome.

Let us know how you pile up the miles.

I've been working on that myself, but have taken a little stumble the last 4 days due to an unusual condition known as trigeminal neuralgia, which has just shown up.

Hey DnvrFox and other fellow BF members:

I'm glad to be among cycling enthusiasts! Sure am envious of your hi-altitude training in Denver; must build up a really high blood oxygen carrying capacity! I'm in a eastern suburb of L.A. with plenty of hills but elevation only around 700-1200ft. asl. Love cranking up those hills but have to get fitter for the really steep ones.

Hi RonH:

Glad to be here and I'm really jazzed about my new yellow/blue EPX 303 carbon: 56cm ~ 19.5 lbs. with clinchers. The 9spd STI shifters are buttery smooth! The stock 120mm ITM stem and the 105 175mm cranks were a bit long so I switched to 105mm ITM stem and 172.5mm Ultegra cranks. I'm still getting used to the Shimano SPD-R pedals. I would never have imagined buying such a decent quality carbon bike for such a great price! Frame alignment is good and the BB is plenty stiff but still dampens road vibrations well.:)
