Can I use one cleat for both pedals?
Yes, yes y'all. It's a beautiful thing. I have both but dig the candy's so much more.

Not unless you stack them.
sorry.
I have eggbeaters on my fixed-commuter and candys on my cyclocross bike. The one-cleat-fits-all system crank bros. has is great when I want to switch bikes but keep the same shoes I ride to work in. I'm thinking about going for the trifecta and getting the quattros for my roadie.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. I use the same skate-style mountain shoes for my mt. bike and my fixed. Mallets on one, beaters on the other.
Sweet. :D

Next thing you know, you'll be building a bike around the Mallets.

I have 2 sets of Candy-c's and since each one comes with cleats, I have spare cleats! One set of shoes, it's great. I love deals like this, for instance, I only have one "good" (correctable) eye. Well, when I get contact lenses, I get them prescribed for my "good" eye, and of course I get 2 pairs, that's standard. Well, for me that's like getting 4 "pairs". And no mixing up left and right either. One of these days I'm going to do a race with an eyepatch over my "bad" eye, arr!
The standard cleat works fine on the candies and eggbeaters, but I've found that the road cleat with pontoons doesn't work so well with the candies. It's really hard to clip in for some reason. The quattro cleat, on the other hand, works great on the candies and the eggbeaters (and the quattro, I'm assuming), plus it's got a more solid feel to it, and is pretty reasonable to walk around in on road shoes.

Good call! I've been wanting a DH rig for all the world famous DC mountain runs.
