View Full Version : Signature dimensions?
First all, I read the thread about text sig sizes . . . apparently a couple of years ago someone suggested that the large text in sigs can be distracting. I thought about it, and I agree, so I changed my sig to a more reasonable size :D
Anyways, I was wanting to perhaps insert an image in my sig instead. What are the dimensions (in pixels) allowable for this? Are only donating members allowed to do this? Thanks,
MW

I will look into this for you. I don't know exactly what sizes are allowed. If they are hosted off site I bet there is no limitation on size.

There WAS (is) a limitation on size, as some folks sigs were used to promote specific products in a very large size. Joe set up certain pixel sizes to control some abuse in this area.
Even if hosted off-site, the size is controlled. Please see my sig pic, which barely fits. I had to reduce the size of my print to fit the sig window, along with the pic.
Personally, I agree with this policy, and started the discussion.

Thats not direct control dnvr. You pic is still original sized, you just can't see it all. I just didn't say that explicitely. The size of the sig is definately limited. But you could like use a huge picture, it just wouldn't showup :)

Yep, thats what it does. I think you are limited to 4 lines of normal sized text :)

Okay, I guess I misunderstood you. At one time there was a scroll function on sigs more than x number of lines. I guess Joe removed that.

Ya...that was a request a while ago. Scrolling sigs are damn annoying. They interupt scrolling screens etc. I was one of the proponents of having that removed :D...
