[Moderator note] Just one thread per topic please...both are now here...looks like some good replies
Im Looking at buying a new bike. But im not really for sure what to get. I have around 400 dollars to spend, not much more then 500 though. Enless i really like the bike then ill fork out the extra cash. I mainly ride park but everyonce in awhile we will ride around town. Im about 6'1 or 6'2. So i want a TT around 20 or 20.5 inches but prolly no bigger then 21. Ive been riding a haro shredder and i like the way i can control it and i think the weight is around 28lbs with no pegs and chopped bars. Ive Been looking at the Hoffman Bikes, 2006 Specialized Fuse 3, and 2005 GT Jamie Bestwick.
Im not Really Sure if those bikes would be good choices or to know the difference in everything. But if you could help me out and let me know what bike would be best for me or what not to get it would help out aot. Also the pros, cons, whys, and why nots would help alot too.
Thanks, Schulte

The suspense must be killing you, with that whole 45 minutes of waiting. Maybe I'll answer when I come back from my lunch break at work.

Get the most bike you can reasonably afford. Until your budget is unlimited, bikes at any given price point are pretty much the same. This question has been beaten to death and honestly, it doesn't matter that much. Most people who buy stock completes and continue with the sport will eventually upgrade the frame, because the best frames usually aren't sold as completes. And most people who actually don't already have a pretty good idea what they're looking for can't tell the difference between one bike and the next.

I think im gonna go with a Hoffman bike. From what ive read most people recomend the Rythum and add front brakes to it. I want a 3-peice crank so the el-2 enless one of the other rythums would be a better choice for around 400 dollars. What do you guys think?
Also does anyone know the weight on that bike.
Hey, how long is Beerman's lunch?

who told u hoffman frames are crap, as far as i know they are 100% 4130 cromo, sounds good to me, ive riden a hoffman rhythm il2 at my lbs and it was sweet, sealed 3pc cranks, the geometry felt good, weight wasnt bad, the post and bars needed choppin', but i really liked it, if i was buying a new bike i would definetly consider it, i would buy a thicker sproket though, but i think its a good choice!

Harsh. By the way, you've been riding since 1994? I guess quality time is more important than quantity, since I've got about 20 years on you. Of course, back then, the tricks weren't quite the same...

which hoffman rythmn would be best for park?
Schulte
08-24-05, 09:52 PM
Ive narrowed it down to kinda what i want. I want an 05 hoffman rythmn. But i dont know what model to get in it. I ride manly park, vert, street stuff like that. Im like 6'2 and 175lbs. All i know is i dont have the money for a PL so it would have to be a El or Il.
Thanks,
Brent.
