Preparing for Winter... which trainer?

For right now Ill go ahead with my recumbent Excercise bike, along with riding on whatever days are feasible here during the harsh months. But as I look at indoor trainers I have a lot of questions. The Recumbent is not like riding outdoors at all, feels wrong, good workout but not the same, then I see that the trainers offer a ride like road feel. But is that only for fluid types? and or what about the magnetic styles, friction rollers? (won't that be the same as my Recumbent?) or the aero style rollers. What I am seeking is to bring inside the closest possible ride feel as the road itself, and maybe be able to sell the recumbent and reduce space used in this tiny place.

I second that. I bought one recently based on the reviews and the pictures/information on the 1UP web site. Used it yesterday for the first time. It's first class. Here's one of the reviews.

By the way, no trainer will be like riding on the road or track. At least your on a real bike in your "riding position".

As a dealer I sell a ton of trainers and fitness equipment. A customer came in looking for a 1up trainer that he saw on-line. I said I would get one for him and called the company. To my surprise they sell retail only! I told them they should sell to dealers. They said there manufacturing cost is to high to allow for dealers. I wanted to see this trainer for myself so I ordered one (full retail price). It came fully assembled, a first in trainers. I had a bike on it in a few seconds and gave it quick test. Best trainer ride in the shop hands down. I use it as a bike demonstrator because I can level the bike; it loads fast and is quiet. I sold the first one for $419 and ordered 2 more. The 1up trainer looks like a $500 trainer. I know trainers and if you want the best trainer out there get this one.

I am considering a Tacx 1460 or perhaps one of the other Tacx models. Anyone have experience with these?

What are the pro's and con's of trainers like these and rollers?

I picked up on of performancebikes cheap adj. mag units with a 20% off and .99 shipping and it works great. I'm sure there are better units out there, I read reviews how one is quieter than another but thoes people have never used a treadmill in a house(any trainer is quieter than that)

Just what I asked for here, making me think serious on this.
I am having to really consider this 1up trainer, Magnets will have a limit and fluid fear of leaks.

I have a travel Trac Century + its very nice, you can adjust resistance while your on the bike!
