What is the difference between various types of tubes? I understand that Latex is more expensive, leaks air faster and according to mtbreview.com doesn't seem to necessarily be stronger. I'm really more curious about regular rubber tubes vs Butyl tubes. It is my impression that butyl tubes are lighter and a little more expensive. Is this accurate? Are butyl tubes stronger than cheaper rubber tubes? Is strength more just a function of thickness? Any other advantages/disadvantages to butyl vs rubber (leaking air faster, easier/harder to patch, etc) ???

The "regular" rubber is in fact butyl rubber. Some butyl tubes are made differently than others, however, so there are everyday butyl tubes and then there are extra-thin ones, moto-thick ones, thorn-resistant ones...
