I think my cleats are damaged and wont allow me to click out with out the use of a screwdriver. I think i should get some new ones. I got nashbar pedals, does it matter what spd replacement cleats i get? i was thinking about shimano replacement cleats. is that okay?

I believe Shimano and Nashbar use the same cleat, but I am not sure. Go ahead and don't mess with that and just order a new set of nashbar cleats.

Ya it might, it will improve the performance and such. Go ahead and do it. Cleats aren't too much anyway.

I believe Shimano actually has different cleats for different models of pedals even in the same structure ie. SPD or SPD-R. If you check out their site they have a chart which recommends which cleat to use with each pedal. The cleats are all similar but they are not exact! This may even be part of the problem you are having with your current set if they are not matched properly.
