Hi all,

I'm trying to find out what the hub spacing is on a 1972 ladies kool lemon varsity (21" frame, not the 19" version). Measuring myself I'm in the area of 126-129mm, possibly 130mm (i'm not an expert at measuring hub spacing). However, a guy at a local shop said it was probably 125mm for the rear. Not sure about the front either. I would love to use 130mm road hubs on the rear. Anyone have any info on this? I've posted to the schwinn collectors forum and no responses yet! If anyone can help, I would appreciate it!

Just take it to a shop and they can have it spread to 130 for you.

I disagree with your suggestion. These frames were made of solid steel that is virtually unbendable , unless you hit a car of brick wall. I don't believe that you can spread the rear triangle in order to fit wider spacing. The frames were just too solid to be moveable or bendable.
